So this is the state of democracy in the UK today.
We have a democracy that allows a government to be re-elected with the support of just 21 percent of the electorate.
A democracy that encourages people to vote tactically rather than for what they actually believe is in the best interests of the country.
A democracy that is so false it leaves 38.7 percent of the electorate on their sofas on election day.
A democracy that allows a party to win two percent of the vote but not a single one of the 646 seats in parliament.
A democracy that provides the possibility of a man becoming prime minister without even fighting a general election.
A democracy whereby the power to change the grossly unfair electoral system lies with the very same man that has benefited so much from it.
A democracy that allows a government to make false promises and get away with it.
A democracy that allows a prime minister to lie and get away with it.
A democracy that allows a prime minister to commit treason and get away with it.
A democracy whereby peerages can be bought.
A democracy that allows a decision to be made by a prime minister that is so inhumane and has such wide-reaching effects and provokes such strong opposition and is so obviously wrong but yet can still be made without the authority of the United Nations and against the overwhelming opinion of the country’s peace-loving people.
A democracy that is not worthy of the name.
A democracy that is so dead the stench is contributing more to global warming than the US and China combined.
Rest in peace, democracy.
